A four-day meeting of the executive and national councils of the United Synagogue of America, organization of Conservative Jewry in the United States and Canada, opened today at nearby Rockaway Park.

During the conference the Conservative leaders will hear plans for the establishment in Israel of a center for Americans affiliated with the Conservative Movement. Dr. Louis Finkelstein, chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, will propose the establishment of a dormitory to house Seminary students who will be studying a year in Israel as part of their rabbinic education.
