The World Jewish Congress is prepared to change its constitution to facilitate the affiliation of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Harry Myer, a W. J. C. leader, declared last night an appeal for the British group to join the Congress.

Addressing the London council of the W.J.C., Mr. Myer said that the Board of Deputies must realize that even if it has special views within the world Jewish community it no longer has “special powers” in world Jewish affairs. He also asserted that “new Jewish values” were being created in the United States where, he said, there were “new, virile and sctive leaders.” He said that compared to American Jewry the affairs of the Anglo-Jewish community were on the “downgrade” and “one has to look hard for signs of fresh leadership.”
