Senate Group Probes Navy’s Action Against Jewish Captain

The Senate Armed Services Committee today began consideration of the case of Naval Captain Hyman G. Rickover, son of an immigrant Jewish tailor, who developed the Navy’s atomic program but who was twice denied promotion and is being forced to retire from naval service at the age of 53.
