The pressing need for full support of the 1953 United Jewish Appeal campaign “to save lives and to strengthen Israel’s free and democratic people” was stressed today in an urgent call to their members by leaders of 15 American Zionist organizations. The presidents of the organizations declared that “American Jewry must assume the obligation of assuring a cafe and productive haven in Israel for all who emerge into freedom from oppression.”
