The influence of social and economic developments at home and abroad on current Jewish community welfare plans and programs will be highlighted at the 54th annual convention of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service, it was announced here today by Marcel Kovarsky president of the organization.
The three-day convention will open Sunday night, May 24, in Atlantic City. Social workers, Jewish center workers and educators from member agencies of the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service in more than 300 communities throughout the United States will attend the sessions.
Points selected for major emphasis will be offered for discussion at the three general sessions on “Jewish Communal Development: Perspective and Assessment,” “The Role of the Professional in the Jewish Community,” and “Jewish Communal Responsibility in the Light of Current National Trends.” The special, sessions of the conference will be devoted to family welfare, child care, community organization, group work vocational services, medical and health services, programs for the aged and community relations.
