The benefits which Israel will derive from the reparations agreement with Germany were outlined here last night by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, chairman of the Jewish Agency and of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

Addressing more than 1,000 guests attending a Jewish National Fund dinner, Dr. Goldmann said that as a result of the payments which Germany will make to Israel under the reparations pact, the Jewish State will obtain all materials needed for the reorganization of its transportation and communications system. It will also secure machinery to expand its industry and agriculture.

Mr. Goldmann emphasized that the payments made by Germany will not alleviate Israel’s present needs. “World Jewry and the American Jewish community in particular, must not take the view that the goods received from Germany obviate Israel’s need for financial assistance from abroad,” Dr. Goldmann warned.
