Dr. Andrew C. Ivy, vice-president of Illinois University, this week-end hit out at discrimination in medical schools and other professional training institutions; charging that they have not kept pace with undergraduate schools in eliminating discrimination.
Addressing a meeting of the national executive of the British Anti-Defamation League here, Dr. Ivy predicted that the day would come when “schools will not be accredited without offering proof that they do not permit discrimination within their halls.” He said that the “vast improvements” manifested in undergraduate school admissions policies since 1946 had been stimulated by a study originally undertaken by the American Council on Education in conjunction with the ADL.
