Zvi Breitstein, editor of the Communist daily newspaper Kol Haam, was today acquitted of charges of :”offending an official representative of a friendly country.” He was arrested on May 11.

The charge arose from Kol Haam’s violent propaganda campaign against Secretary of State John Foster Dulles during and prior to his recent visit to Israel. Charging that the Kol Haam campaign was damaging Israel’s interests as well as adversely affecting Israel-American relations, the Attorney General ordered the editor arrested. A district court today threw out the charges on grounds that they were not drafted properly. The Attorney General has indicated that he will not appeal to the Supreme Court.
