A message calling for the “preservation of our precious heritage of religious and patriotic values” was today received from President Eisenhower by the second annual convention of the Mizrachi Hatzair, organization of religious Zionist youth. Some 250 delegates from all parts of this country and Canada are attending the four-day conference that opened here today.

The delegates heard a report on the progress made toward the establishment at Rehovoth, Israel, of a Mizrachi Youth Center, which will be the first center in Israel to combine religious activities with a social, cultural and athletic program. It was stated that plans are virtually completed for the center, which is the Mizrachi Hatzair’s major current project.

Thirty Mizrachi youths of college age will leave for Israel Monday, immediately after the close of the convention, it was announced at today’s session. The young Zionists are flying to Jerusalem where they will participate in a summer program of work and study under the auspices of the Jewish Agency.
