Ex-chief of Nuremberg Police Put on Trial for Deporting Jews

Dr. Benno Martina Nazi police chief in this city in 1941, is being tried here for his part in the deportation of Nuremberg Jews to “unknown destinations” during the war years. This is the fourth time since the end of World War II that Martin is standing trial on the same charges.

Eight gravestones have been overtuned, and several of them smashed, in the Jewish cemetery at Tunxdorf near Aschendorf, on the Ems river, it was reported here today. No trace of the hoodlums has been discovered.
