The members of the Jewish delegation to the reparations negotiations with the Austrian Government were today reported somewhat uneasy over the fact that the Austrian Government has not yet made any reply to the presentation of the Jewish case, nor has the date of the next meeting yet been fixed. Concern is felt because an Austrian Government spokesman last week promised the delegation an early reply.

Meanwhile, Austria’s neo-Nazi party, the League of Independents, has called upon the Raab Government to widen the Austrian representation at the reparations talks with the delegation of world Jewish groups. In a memorandum to the government, the League urged that “competent Austrian representatives” in addition to those representing the government parties should be present to help guarantee that Austrian property is not “diverted” abroad. This was interpreted here as a bid for the neo-Nazi party to be included in the talks.
