The Austrian labor movement was urged tonight by the national executive committee of the Jewish Labor Committee to “follow the lead of the free German labor movement in supporting the legitimate claims of the State of Israel and the Conference on Jewish Material Claims in the latter’s negotiations with the Government of Austria.”

The committee acted after hearing a report by Adolph Held, its chairman, who has just returned from Vienna where he participated in the negotiations. Mr. Held also reported on the support for reparations to Jewish victims of Nazi persecution voiced at the world congress of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions in Stockholm which he attended.
