A German governmental delegation left for Copenhagen today to negotiate with Israel representatives about the disposition of German Protestant property in Israel.

For the most part, the property at issue belonged to the “Templars,” a Swabian sect who settled in Palestine in the 19th century and prospered until they were deported to Australia by the British authorities during the last war because of their strongly pro-Nazi attitude. In the course of the negotiations between Israel and Germany at the Hague last year, Israel undertook to pay compensation for the property these “Templars” left behind.
