The United States has nominated Lieut. Gen. Raymond A. Wheeler, former Chief of Engineers of the U.S. Army, to be the new head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in Palestine.
Gen. Wheeler, 68, has been engineering advisor to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development since his retirement from the army in 1949.
