Zeev Shepher, Deputy Speaker of the Israel Knesset, will leave Israel tomorrow for the United States bearing a torch lighted on Mt. Zion yesterday at Succoth services at which prayers for world peace were offered. The torch will be brought to Madison Square in New York where a meeting on October 20 will mark the 3,000th anniversary of Jerusalem.

The torch and 70 candles, symbolizing the Biblical 70 nations of the world, were lighted before the prayers for world peace were recited. Memorial services were held for soldiers of all lands who died fighting for peace and freedom. Thanksgiving was offered for the peace in Korea.

Mr. Shepher will head an eight-member group of Israeli Parliamentarians who will attend a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Washington early next month. Later, they will embark on a speaking tour of the United States in behalf of the Israel Bond Issue.
