The Austrian-Jewish negotiations on the Jewish reparations claims have been postponed, probably for the rest of this week, because Chancellor Julius Raab is paying an official visit to France.

It was learned here, meanwhile, that the Austrians have prepared a reply to the Jewish demands, offering a substantially lower sum in payment of Jewish claims for heirless property than the Jews demand. Moses Beckelman, Joint Distribution Committee director for Europe, is expected to arrive here today. Tomorrow he will meet with Finance Minister Reinhardt Kaminitz and Vice Chancellor Adolf Schaerf to receive the Austrian counter-proposal.
