Israel today demanded a special meeting of the Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission to consider an Israel request that great concentrations of Arab Legionnaires in the Jerusalem area be withdrawn from the demarcation lines.
Israel has received information that unusually large troop concentrations are in the ten-kilometer zone behind the demarcation lines. This is in violation of the armistice agreement which drastically limits the number of troops either side can keep in the area.
