Prof. Neils Bohr, world famous physicist and a pioneer in working on the atom, left for Israel as a guest of the Weismann Institute of Science to participate in the cornerstone laying ceremonies for a new physics building at the Institute.
Speaking at a dinner here given in his honor by Dr. Abraham Nissan, Israeli Minister to the Scandinavian countries, Dr. Bohr said: “I am thrilled at the prospect of visiting Israel. It is a dream which I have cherished all my life. ” Dr. Nissan told him that Israel would be “greatly honored by the visit of one of the greatest scientists of our time.”
