Canadian Hadassah Convention Adopts Student Exchange Project

The 15th biennial national convention of the Canadian Hadassah today adopted a project for a student exchange between science students in Canadian universities and science students at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. More than 500 delegates, representing 12,000 members in 278 chapters are at the convention.

It was reported to the convention that nearly $4,000,000 had been raised by the Canadian Hadassah for the Youth Aliyah program in Israel. Major speakers at the parley included Michael Comay, Israel’s first Minister to Ottawa. Mrs. Rebecca Sieff, chairman of the WIZO, and Mrs. Lorna Wingate, widow of the famous British General Orde Wingate, who helped organize the Haganah.
