Resolutions calling for the establishment of an “actions committee” to work for the release of arrested Jewish leaders in Rumania and the establishment of a Rumanian Jewish world organization, were adopted here today at the annual meeting of the United Rumanian Jews of America.

The resolutions were adopted after an address by Idov Cohen, member of the Israel Knesset, who reported that some 200 Jewish leaders in Rumania–the top Zionist and cultural leadership of the community–had been arrested during the past three years and were now being brought to trial in groups of three and four. This procedure, Mr. Cohen charged, was being used to avoid the focus of public opinion on the activities of the Rumanian Government.
