The Canadian Government will use its good offices with the Austrian Government to seek resumption of the Austro-Jewish negotiations on restitution, the Canadian Jewish Congress was told by the Canadian External Affairs Department, the CJC revealed here.

The promise was made following a call at the Department’s offices by CJC officials who requested that the Dominion Government take action similar to that of last summer when it intervened with the Austrian Government. The CJC delegation left a memorandum with the Department fully explaining the situation.
