A Scottish missionary whose activities in Tiberias had caused much resentment among the Jewish community was told today he could continue normal missionary work in the city but would not be permitted to offer economic inducements to prospective proselytes or to work among Jewish children.
Mayor Tzahar of Tiberias told Dr. A, Walker, the head of the missionary group, that normal activities and distribution of the New Testament would be permitted. If the mission wished to offer economic aid, he declared, it should do so through the municipality’s welfare department.
