A group of property owners in Evanston, III., have collected 131 signatures on a petition urging the city council to deny a building permit for the new Hebrew Theological College which has acquired a site in the city, it was learned here.

The reason given by the property owners in the vicinity of the college for opposition to its erection is that it would “depress property values.” The signatures, ironically, were collected chiefly during Brotherhood Week, at the end of February.
