The City of Manchester was yesterday presented with title to a section in the Jerusalem corridor area named for Sir Simon Marks, British Jewish philanthropist, which includes a village named Manchester.

The presentation was made in connection with the opening here of an exhibit on Israel and Manchester entitled: “A City’s Contribution to the Birth of a State.” The exhibit celebrates the sixth anniversary of Israel’s independence and the 50th anniversary of the arrival in Manchester of the late Dr. Chaim Weizmann, first President of Israel, who spent much of his adult life living and working in Manchester.
