General Yigal Yadin, former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Army and Chief of Military Operations during Israel’s War of Independence in 1948, arrived here today to take part in the final spring phase of the United Jewish Appeal.
General Yadin, who at 37 has had a unique and fabled career as a soldier, statesman, scholar and historian, will visit communities throughout the country. He will address a number of important meetings arranged by the United Jewish Appeal.
