Baltimore officials have promised to do everything they can to apprehend a gang of hoodlums who this week defaced and broke a sign announcing ground-breaking for a synagogue, Jewish center and Hebrew school to be built on a site in this city.

The pledge was given after a complaint by Nathan Klein, president of the Liberty Jewish Center, following the defacement of signs for the eighth time in the past year. In 1953 the Baltimore Jewish Council investigated the incidents and turned up several possible suspects, but nothing further was done by the authorities.
