The Defense Department will cooperate in plans for the 300th anniversary celebration of Jewish settlement in this country, Lt. Col, Thomas Corrigan, speaking for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, declared here at a conference of the Tercentenary Committee on Military Participation.

Tercentenary committees on military participation will be organized in communities across the country, and the national committee will prepare a program with specific suggestions on how local committees can participate in local celebrations. The committee is considering the preparation of a special military exhibit, and will call upon historical societies for mementos, letters, citations, medals and military paintings and photographs relating to Jewish participation in the country’s military history. Historical records will also be reviewed for names of Jews who took part in outstanding military events.
