Israel Painter Wins over 32 Competitors at Venice Exhibition

A landscape by Mordechai Ardon, an Israeli painter, has won the UNESCO Prize at the Venice Biennial Exhibition. The painting will be acquired by the Italian Government and will hang permanently in the Modern Art Gallery in Rome. The Israeli painter was adjudged the winner over competitors from 32 countries.
