Dr. Selman A. Waksman, world-famous Jewish scientist, discoverer of streptomycin, and 1952 Nobel Prize winner, sailed for Italy today to receive another coveted honor.
Dr. Waksman is going to Turin where he will be given the St. Vincent award of the Turin Academy of Medicine for “outstanding scientific research in the field of medicine.”
