Thirty-eight Young American Jews Leave for Year’s Study in Israel

The Jewish Agency tendered a farewell reception today to 38 young men and women on the eve of their departure for Israel tomorrow to spend a year in Israel as students in the annual Leadership Institute of the ” Agency’s Youth Department.

All in this group are members of Jewish youth organizations. Participating organizations include youth groups affiliated with the United Synagogue of America and Young Judaea, Hanoar Hatzioni, Mizrachi Hatzair, Habonim, Provisional Students Zionist Organization, and Bnei Akiva. Mrs. Rose L. Halprin, acting chairman of the World Zionist executive, described the Institute as “a vital experiment in the interplay of cultural forces. “
