The Grand Rabbis of France were named today members of a national committee in behalf of the victims of the Orleansville earthquake. French President Rene Coty is chairman of the group.

Premier Pierre Mendes-France replied today to a message of sympathy from Israel Premier Moshe Sharett dispatched on the occasion of the disaster last week. M. Mendes-France’s message thanked the Israel Government and people for their sympathy at a time when the Algerian earthquake “has made us suffer so profoundly.”

(The Jewish Agency has dispatched camp equipment from its stores in Marseilles to Orleansville to provide temporary shelter for homeless Jews in that city, the Jewish Agency office in London announced today.)
