Opponents Smear Jewish Candidate for U.S. Senate in Oregon

Attacks on Richard L. Neuberger, Democratic candidate for the U. S. Senate in Oregon, on the basis of his being a Jew continue despite the disavowal of his Republican opponent. Sen. Guy Gordon, of such attacks on Neuberger, it was reported by members of the Neuberger camp.

These same sources predict that the smear campaign will increase in intensity. One of the charges whispered about him is that he sought to avoid military service in World War II, despite the fact that he was an officer in the Army.
