The first local chapter of the Zionist Organization of Germany to be set up in West Germany proper was established here today at a meeting called by the Jewish Agency.
All Zionist activities were brought to an end in Germany four years ago by the World Zionist headquarters. However, last Summer, in recognition of the new situation of the Jewish communities of Germany, it was decided to re-activate a central German Zionist Organization.
One local chapter has already been organized in Berlin. An attempt to create a chapter in Munich fell through at the last minute when the would-be founders of the group decided that they might not be given full equality with Zionist groups outside Germany. Next week, a chapter will be established in Cologne.
