Acting at the request of Jewish community leaders, the Commissioner of Police in this city has taken a series of measures designed to put an end to attacks on the homes and shops of Jews in this city.

Police posts in the Jewish quarter have been put on a special ’round-the-cluck alert and patrols will make regular tours through the Jewish quarter. In addition, barriers will be erected at the dividing points between the Jewish area and those Moslem quarters from which most of the attackers have come.
