American Jews were invited today to participate in next Summer’s Second World Hebrew Congress in Jerusalem by three distinguished Israel scholars who came to this country to help stimulate the study of “creative Hebrew values in the United States.”

Sponsors of the world congress are the Brith Ivrith Olamith–World Hebrew Culture Federation–of the Jewish Agency and the Histadruth Ivrith of America. The Israel scholars who extended the invitation are Reuven Avinoam-Grossman, American-born Israel poet, Simon Halkin, professor of modern Hebrew literature at the Hebrew University, and Dr. Baruch Ben-Yehuda, former director general of the Israel Ministry of Education.

The three Israelis told a press conference today that they will commence later this week a tour of 30 American cities. During the tour they will stress the “permanent link” which the Hebrew language and culture forms between Israel and the Jews of America.
