Arab Kings Discuss Action Against Israel; Egypt Seeks Arms

King Hussein of Jordan today held a two-hour meeting in Baghdad with King Faisal and the Iraqi Cabinet, discussing the question of a united Arab front against Israel, the Iraqi-Pakistan pact, and other matters, according to reports received here. The King is in Iraq for a four-day visit.

The Egyptian Embassy here today issued a press release citing Egypt’s “desire to cooperate with the Western Powers in arming and strengthening her army.” The Embassy emphasized that Egypt’s opposition to the Iraqi-Turkish pact “does not imply any hostility on the part of Egypt, either to the West or to Turkey.”
