A group of religious Jewish organizations, including the Mizrachi and Agudah organizations, have formed a new organization known as “Khal Israel.” The new group immediately applied to the Ministry of Education for formal recognition as a religious organization.
The formation of “Khal Israel” grew out of disputes within the Vienna Jewish community in which these religious groups found themselves in opposition to the community leadership which they charged was Socialist-influenced.
