A new Sabbath Bill for New York City which has the backing of both political parties and the assurance of passage before the end of this week was introduced today in the Senate and Assembly of the New York State Legislature.
The bill, known as the Calli-Morritt Bill, exempts Sabbath observers in New York City from the existing Sunday Law, which prohibits the operation of business on Sunday. The Calli-Morritt measure permits Sabbath observers to keep their stores open on Sunday.
