Permanent officials of the British and French Foreign Ministries completed a series of meetings here over the week-end aimed at coordinating British and French policy with regard to developments in the Middle East, particularly the new situation created by the intervention of the Soviet Union through the supply of arms to Egypt.

Evelyn Shuckburgh, head of the Middle East Department of the British Foreign Office, and Henri Roux, head of the Levant section of the French Foreign Ministry, figured in the meetings. M. Roux is expected to present the outcome of the London talks to the meeting in Paris this week of the French envoys to all the Middle East countries who have been recalled to Paris for consultations with Foreign Minister Antoine Pinay.
