An Egyptian force entered Israel territory at Nirim, on the border of the Gaza strip, this morning, but was repulsed by an Israel patrol. The invaders were supported by heavy mortar and machine gun fire from positions in the Gaza strip. There were no Israel casualties.

Israel army sources charged today that Egyptian planes, some of them British-built Vampire jets, violated Israel air space today, flying over the Nitzana demilitarized zone and over the settlement of Mivtahim in the Negev.
