Mayor Robert Wagner announced the composition of a 15-member Commission on Intergroup Relations this week-end to handle problems of religious and racial discrimination and violations of civil rights in this city. The commission is headed by Herbert Bayard Swope.

Among the Jewish organizations who have representatives on the 15-member group are: Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith; American Jewish Committee; American Jewish Congress, and Jewish Labor Committee. Funds for the commission will be appropriated later, the Mayor said. The group will serve without pay. It will have the power of subpoena and the right to hear testimony under oath.
