A new immigrant service was instituted in Israel today when 130 newcomers were taken directly from an immigrant vessel in the port of Haifa to three military planes which flew them to Elath, Israel’s port on the Gulf of Akaba, for immediate settlement.
The party consists of young people who know exactly what kind of life awaits them. They were interviewed in an immigrant clearing center in Marseilles by the chairman of the Elath city council who explained the rigors and rewards of life in the outpost city at the southern end of Israel.
