Syrian Military Officers Receive Commando Training in the U.S.

Syrian military officers are being given U.S. Army commando training at Fort Benning, Ga, and will graduate this month, it was revealed here today by the Defense Department following the arrival in this country yesterday of Sheik Mounir Takieddine, Director-General of the Ministry of Defense of Lebanon, for a three-week tour of United States military bases and airplane plants.

Accompanied by two Lebanese military officers, Sheik Mounir came to this country at the invitation of the U.S. Air Force. The three visitors will inspect Army and Navy bases and Air Force establishments in various parts of the country as Air Force guests. They will also be taken to aircraft factories in California.
