The New York Guild for the Jewish Blind and Columbia University have established 40 fellowships for graduate students specializing in work with the blind. The program, which will be offered over a five-year period beginning with this fall will cost $96,000.
Recipients, who must be fully qualified for admission to the school, will be enrolled in the New York School of Social Work and will attend workshop classes at the guild-center. Each recipient will receive $2,200 for each of two years of study. The fellowships will be subsidized by the guild.
