Israel exports to Britain during 1955 dropped below the 1954 mark, but British exports to the Jewish State rose by more than 2,000,000 pounds ($5,000,000), M. Sieff, chairman of the Anglo-Israel Chamber of Commerce, reported today to the fifth annual meeting of the organization. He expressed the hope that the overall increase in trade between the two countries registered last year would continue.
Mr. Sieff, who was re-elected chairman of the association, scored the British governments failure to take firm action against Arab diplomatic missions which questioned British firms which dealt with Arab states whether their directors, owners or employes were Jewish. He held up as an example the Dutch Government’s opposition to the “sinister” Arab boycott campaign.
