Israel Premier David Ben Gurion, in a special interview with the Jerusalem correspondent of the New York Herald Tribune, warned that the United Nations must stop the Arab “policy of terrorism” against Israel, or Israel will punish the “perpetrators of these crimes.” Mr. Ben Gurion is quoted by the correspondent as stating;

“Israel has three alternatives; To send every one back where they came from–to abolish the country, in other words; to make war, or to see that the perpetrators of terrorism are punished. We shall not leave the country, we shall never start a war and we shall not let the people take the law into their own hands.

“Either the United Nations must stop this policy of terrorism or the perpetrators must be punished. The Arabs must not be allowed to continue doing what they are doing. Either the other side stops the perpetrators of these crimes or we will have to punish them.”
