Income tax exemptions for persons taking up residence in the Negev area, in various new developments, and in frontier settlements were recommended here today by the Finance Ministry.

Those taking up residence in all such areas, the Ministry recommended, would pay no taxes on the first 400 pounds of income monthly; would pay lower property taxes, and would be free of various other government excise levies. The benefits would include also persons serving the “exempt” areas, such as teachers, doctors and social workers.
