Dr. Alberto Zubiria, President of Uruguay, accompanied by Foreign Minister Dr. J. Gamarra and other members of the government, attended a reception last night given by Israel Minister M. Hindes in the new legation building here.
In a toast to Israel, President Zubiria said that “between your people and mine there exist great currents of friendship” which have been “clearly manifested in actions of international policy.” He added that the two peoples had a common moral and intellectual heritage. The Minister later presented the President with an autographed Spanish edition of Israel President Itzhak Ben Zvi’s book “The Lost Tribes.”
