The official Soviet news agency “Tass” today disseminated a “warning to Israel’s ruling circles” that “dangerous consequences may follow the aggression in preparation against Jordan and Syria.” The warning was published in the Communist newspaper “Pravda.”

The “Pravda” asserted that 10 Israeli brigades, including armored units, artillery and mechanized infantry, already have been transferred to the Syrian and Jordanian borders and that air support was being prepared. “Additional mobilization is being carried out in Israel and military units are being reinforced from the reserves,” the Soviet report continued. “The situation is similar to the eve of Israel’s military aggression against Egypt.”

The Soviet report also charged “that British and French military units who had allegedly landed during the hostilities against Egypt are staying in Israel and are dressed in Israeli uniforms. “Over 100 airplanes of the French armed forces can be seen on Israeli airdromes,” the report said.
