After an extended interruption, Premier David Ben Gurion and United States Ambassador Edward B. Lawson conferred last night at the Premier’s home and at his request. It is assumed that the Premier outlined the Israel Government’s views on developments at the United Nations, and related matters. However, the content of their discussion was not disclosed.

Meanwhile, further indications have been obtained of Israel’s views on problems connected with the re-opening of the Suez Canal. It is understood that Israel questions the necessity of handling the Suez issue by progressive semi-independent steps. Israel is said to feel that it is more advisable to handle simultaneously and as interdependent issues the withdrawal of forces, clearing the canal and obtaining assurances of freedom of navigation of the water-way.
